Today, the state of Georgia is taking a big-picture approach to HR issues. With input from Governor Sonny Perdue, the Commission for A New Georgia, leadership in the HR community within and outside of state government, and stakeholders, we have examined the state's HR processes through a strategic lens and developed nine statewide strategic initiatives for the current fiscal year.
This collaborative approach to develop enterprise-wide HR best-practice solutions will bring about economies of scale and uniformity in policies, procedures and processes. It is also a critical component to making Georgia the best-managed state in the country by 2007.
