New Hire Year Round Enrollment Web On-Line Instructions (beginning this summer)
Beginning this summer, new hires must select their Flexible Benefits options on-line within 30 days of their hire date.
There are two ways an employee may access the electronic enrollment website. State employees registered with Team Georgia may access the Flexible Benefits page through the sign in portal: team.georgia.gov/portal/site/TGC . State employees who are not registered with Team Georgia may access the Flexible Benefits page directly to make benefit selections at the following link: team.georgia.gov/portal/site/FLEX .
The menu design enables you to click on the option, review your available benefit choices and submit your selections on-line (excluding health benefit). You can make changes multiple times during the 30 day enrollment period. After your 30 day window is ended, two confirmation statements will be produced. One copy will be for your agency’s record, and one copy will be for you.
Before making your selections, carefully review the 2008 You Decide! booklet, including "Terms and Conditions" of your enrollment. You may access the You Decide! booklet by visiting the SPA website at the following link: www.spa.ga.gov/employees/flexible_benefits.asp. Entry of your selected options indicates that you agree to the “Terms and Conditions” and understand this is a binding salary agreement for the duration of the 2008 Plan Year with the exception of the Health Savings Account (HSA). No changes outside of your enrollment period can be made except under limited conditions, which is a qualifying change in status event. For the Health Savings Account (HSA), changes can be made at anytime, on a prospective basis only.
NOTE: If selecting a health option, you must complete and submit a paper Health Membership Enrollment form to your HR department.
Use your regular Internet browser (recommended Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher).
Type in web-site address: team.georgia.gov/portal/site/FLEX ; for registered Team Georgia employees use the link: team.georgia.gov/portal/site/TGC
Before making your selections, review the personal data for accuracy. Notify your personnel/payroll office immediately if this information is incorrect, since some premiums are calculated based on this information (i.e. age, benefit salary).
If an error is found, check the web site regularly to determine if updates to your personal data have occurred. However, you can proceed with “viewing” the web site, even though some information may be incorrect.
Remember to select your benefits within 30 days of your hire date. If the base information is still incorrect on the web site at the end of the 30 day period and a discrepancy occurs (as determined by the Flexible Benefits Program) in coverage or premium due to incorrect information, a correction can be approved.
Before making your selections, carefully review the “Terms and Conditions” of your enrollment located in the You Decide! booklet.
