Over the past few years, Georgia has been recovering from a troubled economy. State entities and their employees have had to do more with less, reducing budgets while improving operations. It has taken the commitment of the state's workforce to bear the storm while continuing to provide government services, both efficiently and effectively.
This year the Governor has approved a 3% salary increase for all employees who meet or exceed performance expectations. The increases will be effective January 1, 2008.
In addition, the minimums, midpoints and maximums of the statewide salary structure will be increased by 3%. All employees who are at or below the new minimums, after all other increases, will be moved to the new pay grade minimum.
